Will Help Database Security Leader Achieve Rapid Expansion
WOBURN, Mass.
Sentrigo, Inc., an innovator in database security software, today announced that Gadi Maier, former chief executive officer and president of FraudSciences Corporation (recently acquired by eBay), has joined Sentrigo’s board of directors as an independent director. A technology industry visionary, with a proven track record of founding and managing hi-tech companies, Maier will offer strategic counsel to the database security leader as it scales operations to meet market demand.
Maier has held leadership positions at many technology companies and spearheaded numerous product innovations. Prior to Fraud Sciences, Maier was a partner at Pinnacle Ventures and Benchmark Capital. He was the co-founder and chief executive officer of several well-known companies including Scalent Systems, a datacenter virtualization software company and Currenex, a marketplace for buyers and sellers of foreign currency that was sold to State Street Bank. He also served as the CEO of GetThere Inc., an on-line travel technology provider where he led the company’s IPO as well as its sale to Sabre Corporation, and prior to GetThere he was the CEO of Memco Inc., a company providing Unix OS security. Memco was purchased by Computer Associates. Gadi has also held senior-level management positions at both Cisco & Oracle.
“Sentrigo has brought real innovation to a market that relies on somewhat rudimentary tools to protect databases,” said Maier. “Sentrigo’s quick market penetration and success with customers demonstrates that its host-based approach to real-time protection of databases against internal as well as external threats is what enterprises need. I am excited to be on Sentrigo’s board and look forward to helping them in their endeavor to protect databases against unauthorized use.”
Nathan Shuchami, chief executive officer of Sentrigo, said, “Mr. Maier’s expertise in the security and software arena is an invaluable asset to us as we develop our customer base and expand our strategic and technology alliances. We are delighted to work with him and benefit from his extensive experience in growing technology companies.”
Sentrigo released its flagship database activity monitoring and intrusion prevention product, Hedgehog, in mid 2007. Organizations across industries—from financial services to telecommunications, government to higher education, healthcare to retail—have adopted Hedgehog to defend their most valuable data against company insiders and hackers, to comply with regulatory requirements and to patch databases against known vulnerabilities.
